Motor Trend magazine's initial impression of the Challenger was "quite a hunk of car." The styling at the Challenger's press introduction was put very succinctly "We call it 'road appearance'!" This 74 Challenger restored in Yellow Blaze rolling on 18 & 20 inch Coys C-5 Chrome wheels is sure to get you all the road presence you could ever desire!
Today, as most people will tell you, any Challenger will give you burly good looks, beefy construction, and genuine pony car character. If you do get your hands on one! There is conjecture as to the number of 74 Challengers produced, but what is certain is that Ford rolled more Mustangs off their assembly line in a week, then Challengers emerged from Dodge in that entire production year. The rarity of this Challenger coupled with the fact that it now runs a stout 440 ci & automatic, makes it the package to have.
The driving experience is made complete with power front disc brakes & power steering. The interior is very clean & original with the exception of black/yellow trimmed seats in as-new condition. There is also a Sony CD player connected to Kicker 6X9 inch speakers in the parcel shelf.
With the pony car market evaporating, production of Challengers ceased mid-1974 & as such, in recent years there's been a strong revival of interest in the 1970-1974 Challengers. This bodes well for their potential as investments and for availability of parts and restoration assistance. The main problem with the Challenger as a collectible automobile is trying to find one in decent condition. Here it is!
